The Board of School Directors of the East Penn School District will be voting on Monday, March 24, 2014, on the appointment of Dr. Michael Schilder as the next Superintendent of Schools. If approved, Dr. Schilder will succeed Dr. Thomas Seidenberger, who is retiring on July 1, 2014 after seven years of outstanding service.
Dr. Schilder began his career as a teacher in Central Bucks School District in PA and became an elementary principal in Hopewell, NJ. He was an Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction in both West Orange School District and Bernards Township School District. Schilder became the Superintendent in Clinton Public School District and remained there for 8 years.
He then assumed the Superintendent position in the 9,000-student district of Bridgewater-Raritan, where he served for almost 7 years.
Dr. Schilder stated, "I've been impressed with the district pride shown by the Board, administrative team, teaching staff, and parents. People are committed to maintaining areas of excellence and making improvements where needed. Everyone I met was thrilled to be a part of East Penn and so am I."
Dr. Schilder and his wife live in Milford, NJ and have two grown children living in Washington, DC and Brooklyn, NY.
