Homework is essential for student success because it teaches responsibility and helps students develop good study habits. Also, homework assignments reinforce content and skills that have been taught in class and provide students with practice so they are successful on assessments. Finally, homework provides you with an insight into your child's abilities in a given content area: if your child completes an assignment successfully-you know that she has mastered the concept that was taught, but if your child struggles with homework, you know that he may need additional help learning the content of the assignment.

The following table lists the anticipated Language Arts homework for each night this week. Please use it as a guide only, since assignments may change depending on classroom instruction. Science/Social Studies and Math homework will not be listed here, since assignments for these subjects are given by the other fifth grade teachers. This page is NOT intended to replace students' responsibility for copying homework into assignment books. Below the table, you will find links to any workbooks available online for Language Arts in the event that you need them. As always, thank you in advance for you support of your child's academic success by checking that homework is completed daily.
