Course Curriculum

Course Description:  This course is designed to give seniors a greater understanding of the American Government, and Economic Issues.  The course is broken down into two parts: American Government, and Economics.  Current events will also be involved in class so that students can make connections with the content, and its real world applicability. 

Textbook:       Civics Today: Citizenship, Economics, & You, (Glencoe, 2003.)

Course Sequence:      

American Government

  1. Foundations of American Government
  2. The Constitution
  3. Politics of American Democracy
  4. State and Local Government
  5. Structure of the Federal Government

Economics

  1. Study of Economics
  2. Supply and Demand
  3. Consumer in the Economy
  4. Role of Business in the Economy
  5. Role of Government in the Economy
  6. Global Economics

Grading: (Includes the following) Class-work/Homework assignments, Notebook, Quizzes, Tests, Papers, Presentations, Midterm/Final Exam.
