Mr. Trexler's Web Page

Welcome to my web page.  I am the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade Learning Support teacher.  I have been working in special education for the past 21 years.  Six of these years have been as the ES teacher at Shoemaker.  I have received my BS in Education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Special Education certification at Immaculata University and Master's in Education through Cabrini College.    I am the Crisis Prevention Intervention instructor, along with Brenda Ringer, for the East Penn School District.  I use the information to train other teachers within the district on how to handle a child in crisis and use intervention techniques.

I have two daughters, Ella and Emma, who are mebers of the Shoemaker team.  My wife, Laura, teaches 6th grade science at Palisades Middle School. When I am not at school, I enjoy fishing, reading, building and fixing around our cabin, and my true passion is Christmas decorations. My family puts on a fantastic holiday display from Thanksgiving through January. We raise money for the Angel 34 network. This is an organization that helps families of children who have cancer.  Last year we raised $2000 for this organization. We love having families share in our labor of love. We would love to see you this year.

My goal as the LS teacher is to give the student the outlets needed to succeed in the general education curriculum, gain friendships and become excited about school. I have the honor of introducing the new Read 180 program to the 4th and 5th grade students this year.  This will give them the tool neccessary to move forward in their academics. I believe all students have the ability to grow academically and socially if they are given the right guidance.  I am looking forward to another great year at Shoemaker.
