Volunteering at Shoemaker (or any other school at East Penn)

Updated Information Due to Recent Changes to Act 153 Pertaining to Volunteers:
If a volunteer was previously approved as a volunteer, they have until July 1, 2016 to obtain updated certifications. Therefore, those individuals will remain on the District’s Volunteer Listing for the 2015-2016 school year. All volunteers are now required to obtain new certifications every 60 months (5 years).

To be included on the Volunteer Listing, volunteers are responsible for providing the following certifications: Pennsylvania Criminal History Record (Act 34) and the Child Abuse History (Act 151), to Human Resources, and are required to sign the Volunteer Affidavit. PLEASE NOTE: if the volunteer has not been a resident of the state of Pennsylvania for 10 years, he/she will not be able to sign the Volunteer Affidavit, and instead will be required to complete the FBI Federal Criminal History. Check (Act 114). Detailed information can be found on the district’s website.

The East Penn School District is an equal opportunity education institution and will not discriminate in its educational programs, activities or employment practices on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, religion, ancestry, disability, union membership or other legally protected classification. Announcement of the policy is in accordance with state and federal laws, including Title VI, Title IX, Section 504 and Americans with Disabilities Act. Copyright 2009 East Penn School District.
