The purpose of 1st Grade Math is to continue the students' number sense and begin to teach basic mathematical functions. Students will be able to count and recognize numbers up to 100 as well as being able to perform simple addition and subtraction problems. Later in the year, students will begin to work with measurement and charting data. Here are some of the major concepts we will cover this year:

  • Number Sense
  • Addition
  • Subtraction
  • Counting On
  • Measurement with Standard Units
  • Measurement with Non-Standard Units
  • Graphing Tables & Charts
  • Time
