Classroom Management

I believe that classroom management in essential to creating a meaningful, positive, productive, and nurturing classroom. In the first few days of the school year, the children and I work together to create rules we think are important. To accompany those created rules I have put in place a system of rewards and consequences to keep the children motivated. Your family will see our rules, rewards and consequences on our behavior contract.  Please discuss our classroom contract and sign and return the section of the letter indicated. Our classroom contract rewards and consequencesare listed below for your family's reference.  In advance, thank you for helping to create a positive classroom environment where all participants can learn and feel accepted and safe.

Rewards for Good Behavior

- Tickets (these are traded in for prizes)

- Warm fuzzies (positive behavior certificate)

- Positive parent phone calls and notes

- Lunch with the teacher (a student can earn this at the end of the month if they have not earned any warnings)

-Extra privileges (passing out papers, running errands, teacher's helper, etc.)

- First redirection = Warning

- Second redirection = 10 minute student reflection time

- Third redirection = Note home to be reviewed with family
