Our 5th grade students participate in the HSP Harcourt Math series. This year we'll be learning place value (to the billions), multiplication, division, graphing, data and probability, decimals and fractions (how to add, subtract, multiply and divide them), algebra, measurement, geometry and more!  One way to help your child build their math skills is through practicing basic math facts.  Please help your child to have a working knowledge of their basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts.

This year East Penn students will remain with thier homeroom teachers for their math class.  The same content and curriculum is will be taught throughout each class, however, different teachign strategies may be utilized.  These will be based on the needs of each class as well as each student.  As a staff we are committed to continually assessing the students to determine their current needs.  Should you have specific questions about your child's Math performance please me.

Lastly, our Math series contains online components and resources.  Your child's textbook is accessible online.  Should your family wish to utilize the textbook and other resources in your home please follow the link and directions below for access.  Please notify me if your family does not have Internet access and I will make special arrangements for your child to have access to a hard cover book when needed.  Educational Math websites will also be posted in the student section of our class website for greater practice and Math fun!
