Students are to arrive at school on time each day. If you bring your child to school late, you must walk him/her to the office and sign in. In the case of an absence, please complete an excuse blank and send it to the office within three days of the absence. Extended absences due to vacations should be taken care of prior to the vacation. You can obtain a vacation form from the office or use this link to print your own. Completed forms should be completed and returned to school before vacations. Please feel free to send in your vacation form with your child. Click here to obtain a vacation form.

Students may bring in a small non-edible treat to share with their classmates on their birthday. Currently there are 24 students in our class. Students with birthdays over the summer months when school is not in session can bring in a treat on their half birthday. Participation in this is completely optional.

Dismissal Changes

If there is a change in your child’s normal routine, please notify me in writing the day the change will occur. I must receive something in writing from a parent if any child is to change his/her normal method of transportation. You may use the assignment book to notify me of the change. Adding a telephone number where you can be reached is also helpful.

Friday Folder

Every Friday, unless otherwise noted, students will bring home their Friday Folder. Inside the folder will be a checklist noting which papers are included in this week’s folder. Review all papers with your child, sign each test and return the folder on Monday with all signed test papers inside. Please be aware that these tests along with class work and teacher observation will be used to determine your child's grade.

School Hours

School begins at 9:00 and ends at 3:20.  There is NO early dismissal on Wednesdays anymore.

Student Insurance

The East Penn School District does not carry medical insurance on students however the East Penn School District does provide an opportunity to select a primary excess group insurance plan for your child.   Student accident insurance can help you manage the possibility of out-of-pocket expenses, since many group insurance policies no longer pay full hospital and medical expenses and may require a deductible or co-insurance.  To obtain more information, please visit

Planning a trip? If you are planning to take a trip when school is in session, make sure to fill out the district's vacation form at least a week in advance. Below is the link to the district website where you can find the vacation form.
