Snack Time

We will be having an afternoon snack time in the classroom every day.

Just for the first week of school, it would be very helpful to have your child's snack labled as their snack or separated from their lunch box if they are packing. Since eating lunch here at school is new to them, students sometimes get confused as to what is actually their snack and what is their lunch and whether or not they are buying lunch. Also, please only send one snack each day for snack time.

Here are some guidelines and information about snack:

  • All snacks must be peanut/nut/ peanutbutter free!! Snacks containing any nut products can not be eaten in the classroom
  • It should be a snack that can be eaten in 5-10 minutes and if possible be a "healthy snack"
  • Many times we will be having a "working & eating snack" so snacks that are not real messy and that can be eaten while they work are preferred.
  • No juice can be sent in for snack- we have a water fountain in the room that they may get drinks from or a water bottle can be sent in
  • Snacks will not be provided, so if your child forgets their snack they will just go without snack that day
  • If you send in a snack that needs to stay cold, please make sure that your child has a lunch box to keep it in to help it stay cold. Snack is in the afternoon and their snack will get warm if it's not in a lunch box.
  • Please remember to send in a spoon with snacks that need them.
  • Snack time will start on the first day of school!
